Masked youths are a growing concern across Havering, with residents increasingly worried about safety in their communities.

In Hornchurch, police have stepped up patrols and enforcement, working closely with the council to tackle the issue. Officers have already issued two Section 35 dispersal orders and continue to respond to incidents as they arise, showing a clear commitment to protecting residents.

But the situation remains challenging.

Reports suggest youths, some as young as 13, are going out masked and targeting bikes, intimidating anyone who tries to intervene. In one particularly shocking incident, masked individuals reportedly attacked a car in Hornchurch while the owner and their young child were inside.

It is deeply concerning and understandably frightening for those living in the area.

Police are actively working to address the problem, but as soon as one area is targeted, another begins to see a rise in anti social behaviour. This ongoing cycle is making it harder to stamp out completely.

Recent incidents highlight the wider issue. In Romford last week, a stabbing saw youths fighting in broad daylight, with reports of knives being used. It is a stark reminder of the risks and the urgency of tackling youth violence.

Despite these challenges, officers on the ground continue to act, patrol and respond. Their message to the public is clear. Reporting matters.

If incidents are not reported, police have no record and cannot allocate the resources needed to deal with the problem effectively.

The question many are now asking is not whether police are doing enough, but how this situation has been allowed to escalate and what more can be done as a community to support the response.

Residents are being urged to stay vigilant, report concerns, and work with police to help bring these incidents under control.

This is a direct result of the Nanny state and the continual undermining and disempowerment of the police. Let’s be honest too about the racial profile of those committing the majority of these type of crimes! Kids are not scared these days and also encouraged by what they see on social media. I personally would vote to have Military presence on our streets because I’m sick of what we’ve allowed society to become because we are too scared to upset the minorities. Britain is broken.
