“Invaluable To Our Borough” Havering Council Confirms Lifeline Funding For Havering Volunteer Centre.
The Leader of Havering Council has moved to reassure the borough that Havering Volunteer Centre (HVC) will be funded into the future, recognising the vital role the organisation plays in supporting communities across Havering.
Ray Morgon, Leader of the council, confirmed that the organisation will continue to receive funding going forward after the centre was recently secured for another year.
Councillor Morgon said:
“Following our announcement that the HVC are secure for another year, we want to be clear about future funding and the invaluable service the HVC provide.
“The HVC not only support our communities, but they also support the Council. From providing volunteers in times of crisis, to helping to mobilise residents for litter picking and supporting community cohesion.
“We are grateful for the service they provide and are therefore confirming they will continue to receive funding year-on-year to enable their brilliant work to continue.”
Havering Volunteer Centre and its staff do an outstanding job across the community. Led by the incredible Shelley, the dedicated team has been supporting Havering for many years, often during some of the borough’s most difficult times.
The centre plays a vital role in mobilising volunteers across Havering, helping residents come together to support one another and strengthening community cohesion across neighbourhoods.
Many residents recognise Havering Volunteer Centre as one of the most invaluable organisations the borough has. Without its presence, Havering would lose many of the vital volunteer-led roles that help support local people and communities.
With Havering Council now stepping forward to confirm continued funding, the important work carried out by the organisation and its volunteers will be able to continue supporting the borough for years to come.
