Havering Police are once again bringing their highly popular United in Football and Basketball programme to local young people this February half term. The initiative, led by Chief Inspector Routley and his dedicated local officers, has been a huge success since it launched two years ago, giving children and teenagers a safe and positive environment to get active, have fun, and meet others.

Chief Inspector Routley said, “We’re excited to invite children and young people from across Havering to join us this February half term for our United in Football and Basketball sessions. All activities are completely free, open to both primary and secondary school ages. For the events on Monday 16th February and Thursday 19th February there’s no need to book—simply turn up and get involved.

For the West Ham Foundation Football Tournament on Wednesday 18th February you will require to pre-book a space. This can be done easily by scanning the QR code on the flyer or clicking on this link – https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=il_cvVO1BUGbmf-OrpSJylg9YXe263dGv-xL7EBMv99URDg5TElGRzI5N0k4V1U0TjlBSVkxTjAxSS4u&origin=QRCode&route=shorturl

This programme is a strong partnership between Havering Council, the Metropolitan Police, and the West Ham United Foundation. It provides a brilliant opportunity for young people to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy a fun and safe environment during the school holiday. We look forward to welcoming the community and seeing everyone join in.”

The events demonstrate the commitment of Chief Inspector Routley and the local policing team to supporting the community, creating positive experiences for young people, and fostering strong links between residents and the police. Their tireless work ensures that children in Havering can enjoy meaningful activities in a safe and welcoming space, while strengthening community spirit across the borough.
