Havering Museum, which is run by volunteers not only shares Havering’s rich history, in a fun and creative way, but offers work experience to young people like Megan Hatley.

Work experience can be daunting for young people, but not for Megan, she had a great time, helping to update the schools education programme, decorating the windows for Valentine’s Day and getting involved in the preparation for the children’s biscuit decorating event, which takes place on Friday, 20 February at 1pm. (£4 per child)

Megan said “I had a great couple of days and really enjoyed it.   It was a lovely experience working at the museum and I am coming back to help with the children’s biscuit decorating”.

Ann Young, Volunteer Manager said “Meganhas been brilliant. She has a get up and do attitude, is open, friendly and has a great sense of humour.  She has been a great help to us during her work experience period and no doubt she will have great fun with the children at the biscuit decorating event.”

Tickets for all Havering Museum events can be found at www.haveringmuseum.org.uk or at the Museum, which is open Wednesday to Friday, 11am to  4.30pm.
