“Chaos on Our Roads: Hornchurch Brought to a Halt by Ongoing Works”.
Hornchurch residents say enough is enough as road works on North Street and Station Lane continue to cause daily chaos across the area. Traffic is at a standstill for long periods, with drivers facing heavy congestion that is spilling into surrounding roads and residential streets.
Works on North Street between Burnway and Theatre Road have created severe bottlenecks, with motorists reporting near gridlock at peak times. The works are believed to be linked to a collapsed sewer and are expected to last up to four weeks, leaving residents bracing themselves for a month of disruption.

Locals are now hoping Havering Council can temporarily suspend the parking on Theatre Road to allow traffic to flow and ease the pressure on nearby routes. Without intervention, they say the situation is becoming unbearable.
The problems are at their worst during school runs and rush hour, when both North Street and Station Lane grind to a halt. Traffic lights on Station Lane are also being blamed for long tailbacks on both sides, adding to the daily frustration.
For many residents, this is the final straw. already dealing with long-term disruption from Gallows Corner, they say Hornchurch is being pushed even further.
