Straight Into Action As Harold Hill Deer Aid’s First Rescue of 2026 Saves Another Life.
Harold Hill Deer Aid have started 2026 exactly as they ended 2025, saving lives.
The dedicated team, including Jan and Shantel, raced to Dunmow after reports of a distressed deer trapped by a length of blue cord tightly wrapped around his antlers. The animal was unable to move, exhausted and frightened, with every moment increasing the risk of serious injury or death.
Thanks to the calm, skilled and compassionate response of Harold Hill Deer Aid, the cord was carefully cut away and the deer was safely freed before being released back into the wild.
Once again, this remarkable group has shown just how vital their work is. Their rapid response, expertise and bravery continue to save animals that would otherwise have little chance of survival.
Harold Hill Deer Aid are a true lifeline for wildlife across our communities and deserve every bit of support they receive. Their work is not just admirable, it is quite literally life saving.
