By Jasper Searles – Junior Sports Reporter
Sport Report W/C 22nd November 2025
Hello, its Jasper, Junior Sports Reporter for The Havering Daily, and I welcome you to another article, where I look at this week’s football.
Please read on for my review of the weekend, including Hornchurch and the latest from the Premier League. The first loss for Arsenal, Xavi Simmons finding the net…
This week had it all!
Thank you Havering.
29th November
Hornchurch FC
Maidenhead United 2 – 0 Hornchurch
Goalscorers:
W De Havilland
J Mitchell-Lawson
Hornchurch remain top of the table, but continue to keep losing every other week. It wont be long until we see them falling down the table, at this rate. Losing is becoming usual now; despair has hit the club! Weeks ago, they were top of the table and flying, they need to find some consistency and need a big win on Saturday, against Dover Athletic.
Premier League Round-Up
Aston Villa 2 -1 Arsenal
Goalscorers
Aston Villa: M Cash (36’) and E Buendia (90’+5)
Arsenal: L Trossard (52’)
A second loss for the Gunners this season, Villa flying up the table. Villa have a good head-to-head vs Arsenal, Unai Emery ex Arsenal boss, will be bursting with happiness. Late winner by Buendia left both sets of fans flabbergasted.
AFC Bournemouth 0 – 0 Chelsea
BORING. Semenyo’s goal got disallowed. When a disallowed goal is the game highlight it isn’t very good is it? Chelsea fans highlight will be not getting an early bath.
Everton 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Goalscorers
N. Milenkovic (2’ Og), T. Barry (45’+3) and K Dewsbury-Hall (80’)
Forest are very inconsistent, one week they batter their opponents, one week they take a battering themselves! What separates good teams is consistency. The same can usually be said about Everton as a team, but individually K Dewsbury-Hall is in great form.
Manchester City 3 – 0 Sunderland
Goalscorers
Ruben Dias (31’)
J Gvardiol (35’)
P Foden (65’)
Fantastic chemistry from Foden and Ryan Cherki. A lovely Rabona assist which willgo down as one of the best assists ever. City back to winning ways at the Etihad. Many positives to take from the blues.
Newcastle United 2 – 1 Burnley
Goalscorers
Newcastle: Bruno Guimaraes (31’) and A Gordon (45’ + 8 pen)
Burnley: Z Flemming (90’+ 4 pen)
Newcastle, boy oh boy are there many positives to take from this. Wissa back from an injury, a win, a threat from set pieces. The only negative is their game management. They are conceding loads of late goals, like in the game vs Leverkusen, in the UCL.
Tottenham Hotspur 2 – 0 Brentford
Goalscorers
Richarlison (25’)
X Simons (43’)
Xavi Simmons, a player who has been criticised for not having a great goal record, he just scored in the prem and UCL! Disappointing game for the bees, but Tottenham have proved to be a great team.
Leeds United 3 – 3 Liverpool
Goalscorers
Leeds: D Calvert-Lewin (73’ pen), A Stach (75’) and A Tanaka (90’+6)
Liverpool: H Ekitike (48’, 50’) and D Szoboszlai (80’)
Leeds massively over performing, Liverpool? MASSIVELY UNDER. Results are not the only worry. Players and pundits have been turning on the manager. “I feel like I’ve been thrown under the bus”, said Salah this week. Even the biggest of legends don’t believe. Also, from me to Liverpool fans since you ruined my whole summer holiday (Isak who?!) I have 2 words: “Free Salah”. (THEY FINALLY GOT A TASTE OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE!)
Brighton & Hove Albion 1 – 1 West Ham United
Goalscorers
Brighton: G Rutter (90’+1)
West Ham: J Bowen (73’)
West Ham get another point to almost fully bat away relegation worries. A late equalizer from Rutter only gave them one point today, but as a West Ham fan would you take a point? Let me know in the comments.
Fulham 1 – 2 Crystal Palace
Goalscorers
Fulham: H. Wilson (38’)
Crystal Palace: E Nketiah (20’) and M Guehi (87’)
Another loss for Fulham, another win for Crystal Palace. Both sides were evenly matched, but you just can’t beat Harry Wilson’s goal. Captain Guehi’s late winner means a win for the Eagles.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 – 4 Manchester United
Goalscorers
Wolves: J Bellegarde (45’+2)
Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes (25’, 82 pen) B Mbeumo (51’) M Mount (62’)
Wolves. 2 points all season. They are on track to be the worst premier league team ever.
In the case of Man U, I will say it again, when Mount Plays Mount scores! I know Ruben Amorim doesn’t read my articles, but one way or another I hope Man U take this into account. England could do with an in-form Mason Mount for the World Cup.
