Video: Is Work Continuing at Unauthorised Encampment in Noak Hill Despite Council Stop Order?
Residents living near the unauthorised encampment in Noak Hill say activity on the site appears to be continuing, despite formal stop notices recently issued by Havering Council.
The notices, served last week by enforcement officers, instructed those on the land to stop all work and return the site to its previous condition by mid-January. The land, which is designated green belt, has become a concern for nearby households who say they have witnessed ongoing vehicle movement and construction activity.
Footage shared with the Havering Daily shows machinery operating on the site, including diggers. Residents previously reported seeing lorries delivering hardcore material, along with mobile homes and caravans arriving earlier this month.
The land is privately owned, and council officers acted quickly once activity was reported. However, locals say they are worried that the stop notices may not be being followed.
The matter remains under investigation and further enforcement action may follow now from the council.
