Breaking: Overnight Chaos As Huge Unauthorised Encampment On Greenbelt Land Sparks Fury in Noak Hill.
Residents living in Noak Hill have reached out to The Havering Daily after reporting large lorries blocking local roads on Sunday morning, carrying loads of hardcore into a field on Green Belt land. The site, near Paternoster Road and Church Road, has become the focus of serious concern as residents believe an unauthorised encampment is being rapidly constructed.
According to those living nearby, machinery was used overnight on Saturday to level the land and prepare what they fear could become a site large enough to hold close to one hundred caravans. Police attended the scene and residents say the scale of activity has left them deeply alarmed.
One resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, told The Havering Daily that the situation has left locals extremely shaken. “Hundreds of trucks of hard core and soil have been bussed into a Green Belt area in Noak Hill. Machinery was used overnight to create a huge site that could hold 80 or more caravans. We are horrified and frightened to speak up.”
Locals have described seeing trucks arriving in large numbers and roads becoming obstructed as vehicles queued to enter the field. Many have expressed anger and frustration at what they view as the destruction of their Green Belt, with hardcore being spread across land usually valued for its open and rural character.
Residents say they are appalled by how quickly the land has been transformed and worried about the lack of immediate action over a weekend when enforcement options are limited. Some have already contacted local councillors, raising urgent concerns about the impact on the area.
This is an ongoing story and The Havering Daily will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
