Elm Park was the place to be on Friday 28 November as residents and shopkeepers geared up for the Christmas lights switch-on. The afternoon burst into life thanks to the Fat Pizza team, who handed out an astonishing 2,322 pizzas for just £1, creating a queue that snaked down the street long before their doors opened.

Elm Park was buzzing as Ripu and Sunny, the well-loved faces of the Fat Pizza, once again proved why they’re considered true community champions. Their generosity brought families, children, shopkeepers and passers-by straight to the heart of Elm Park, where the smell of fresh pizza set the tone for a spectacular afternoon.

Elm Park Safer Neighbourhood Team, including Inspector Connolly and Sergeant Atkin, came to support the community, as the area came alive with smiles, laughter and stacks of delicious pizzas. Local councillor Julie Wilkes also came to show her support for the team’s outstanding community spirit.

As the excitement built, Father Christmas made his grand arrival accompanied by a towering stilt walkers. The atmosphere shifted from lively to magical as the Christmas lights were officially switched on by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Mugglestone. Even then, the queue outside the Fat Pizza didn’t slow down, a true reflection of how much the community values what Ripu, Sunny and their fantastic team do.

It was an afternoon that summed up the very best of Elm Park. A community coming together, local heroes going the extra mile, and a whole lot of very happy pizza lovers. Fat Pizza once again cemented itself as a pillar of kindness, generosity and pure community spirit.
