The Member of Parliament for Romford-Andrew Rosindell MP has called for Justice Secretary David Lammy to resign following the mistaken release of another foreign sex offender, calling his performance in Parliament yesterday as ‘calamitous’.

Mr Rosindell spoke to The Havering Daily after it emerged that police were not notified of the offender’s release until six days later. He expressed outrage at what he described as yet another “shambles” in the justice system.

“I am horrified that yet again the Labour government are letting out dangerous foreign criminals onto our streets, putting British people at risk and endangering children. They should be utterly ashamed of their mishandling of the situation and David Lammy should resign after his calamitous performance in the House of Commons yesterday. We need a Justice Secretary who will guarantee justice for law abiding British people, not one who lets dangerous criminals out of jail, putting innocent citizens at risk!”

The MP emphasised the need for urgent reform and accountability, highlighting the danger posed to communities when communication failures occur between the Ministry of Justice and police forces.
