St Alban’s Ward Councillor Jane Keane and Emma Hawkins Prospective Council Candidate for St Edwards Ward,  are pictured here in front of the Habitat For Humanity Great Britian’s ReStore in Romford. They are shown with boxes containing unused space heaters, ready for resale in the ReStore for those struggling to heat their homes this winter. Habitat ReStore Romford is a community-focused home improvement charity shop, located at 6–18 High Street, Romford.

Jane said: “When Pastor Matthew Stratton, the Leader of the Romford Evangelical Church, Brentwood Road, in St Alban’s Ward contacted me and said he had a builder, John Graham Construction, who was looking for a home for approximately 20 heaters, I immediately thought of Romford ReStore. Items donated there are resold at very competitive prices and the proceeds used to support members of the community in lots of different ways. Since then John has also kindly donated kitchen worktops and insulating materials to the store.”

Emma Hawkins, said, “John is a great example of a builder proactively reducing the carbon footprint of the construction industry.”

The Romford Labour Action Team urge other local builders to follow John Graham Construction’s example.
