Faith and Safety: Police and Community Unite Against Scams in Romford
Romford’s Safer Neighbourhood officers joined forces with the Phoenix Community Group this week to raise awareness of the latest scams targeting residents.
Officers were invited to St Edward the Confessor Church in Market Place, where the Phoenix Community Group meets every Thursday. The team shared important information on how to spot and avoid scams, handing out copies of ‘The Little Book of Big Scams’ and an additional booklet focused on telephone scams.
The session was “very well received” by attendees, who appreciated the practical advice and reassurance offered by the officers.
Romford’s Safer Neighbourhood Team continues to take a proactive approach across the community — not only patrolling the streets, but also engaging directly with local residents to help them stay informed and safe.
Events like this show how our officers are working hand-in-hand with the community.
