Havering Police will be holding a special ‘Community Crime-Fighting Event’ on Wednesday 22 October to highlight the work being carried out across the borough and share their plans for the next two years.

The event will take place at Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls and is open to residents and business owners. Police say the evening will provide an opportunity for open discussion about local policing and the publication of A New Met for London 2 – the strategy that will shape how London is policed over the coming years.

A spokesperson for Havering Police said:
“We are thrilled to welcome the residents and business owners of Havering to join us at our upcoming Community Crime-Fighting event. This will be a community conversation to discuss the publication of A New Met for London 2, our strategy that will shape how we police London for the next two years. We are committed to listening to the thoughts and feelings of the communities it will affect.”

The evening will feature guest speakers, who will outline what the Met and its partners are doing to address the concerns of Havering residents, identify challenges that remain, and discuss what can be done collectively to overcome them.

“This event will see guest speakers present on what the Met are doing, alongside our partners and the public, to address the key concerns of Havering’s residents, identify the challenges that still exist and highlight what we can do together to overcome them. There will be the opportunity to ask questions during the event and networking time before the event starts with information stalls from various MPS departments and local partners working within Havering.”

Tickets are free but capacity is limited to 200 people. They can be booked via Eventbrite at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/community-crime-fighting-havering-tickets-1684525062809?aff=oddtdtcreator

“We very much look forward to seeing you there,” police added.
