A Havering family is appealing for community support after a tragic accident left local man Kyri Kyriacou with severe brain damage.

At Christmas, Kyri returned home to spend time with his family and support his sister, who is battling cancer. But on Christmas Eve, tragedy struck when he suffered a serious fall down concrete stairs on his way to the bathroom.

The accident left Kyri in a coma over the New Year. Although he later regained consciousness, he has been left with severe brain damage, turning life upside down for both him and his loved ones.

To help the family through this incredibly difficult time, friends and supporters have launched a GoFundMe page and are hosting a charity boxing event on Saturday 20th September at 2pm.

Local businesses have stepped up to donate raffle prizes, including Slug & Lettuce, Mangal Meze, Black Phoenix, and Bunkers, demonstrating the strength of community spirit in Havering.

The boxing fundraiser promises to be a lively community event, raising vital funds to support Kyri’s ongoing care needs and to ease the immense strain on his family.

Anyone wishing to donate can do so via the GoFundMe page, and locals are encouraged to come along on 20th September to show their support.
