Romford MP Commemorates Victory Over Japan Marking The End Of WWII.

The Member of Parliament For Romford-Andrew Rosindell MP, yesterday marked the end of World War II at the Royal British Legion in Romford.

Mr Rosindell, a well known patriot, commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory in Japan with Havering’s Mayor, Councillor Sue Ospreay and veterans including a very special person. Andrew met 101 year old Solomon Sharpe, a WWII veteran who served in the Burma campaign.

Mr Rosindell MP told the Havering Daily: “It was an honour and a privilege to meet 101 year old veteran, Solomon Sharpe, who served in the far east at that time in the service of King and Country.

“A huge thank you to all the staff and committee of the Romford Royal British Legion, for organising such a brilliant day to celebrate a magnificent victory and the end of World War II.”
