Dagenham And Rainham MP Works To Have Footpath Repaired On Ingrebourne Road Following Fall By Pensioner.

Margaret Mullane, the Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham, responded to a report that an elderly resident of Ingrebourne Road, Rainham had suffered a painful fall when walking along the footpath due to an uneven surface. The resident also pointed out that one of the street trees appeared to be diseased.

Other residents of Ingrebourne Road drew Margaret’s attention to a potential road traffic hazard in the vicinity of the junction of the road with WenningtonRoad. The problem here was that drivers’ sight lines are obscured by the way large vans and cars are frequently parked due to the road layout.

These issues were taken up by Margaret and reported to Havering Council. The Council has now got back to Margaret’s office to say that an inspection of Ingrebourne Road has been carried out and orders have been placed to repair the footpath and that the low hanging branches of trees will be lopped. A check will also be made of the tree that was reported to be diseased to ensure its safety. 

Margaret told the Havering Daily: “Residents want to have pride in their area and the safety and appearance of our street scene is so important to fostering that sense of pride.

I have also been told that Havering Council are to review the parking bay layout in Ingrebourne Road close to the junction with Wennington Road. This is necessary as local residents believe that the current parking problem here means that there is an accident waiting to happen.”
