Prolific Romford Thief Jailed For Five Weeks

A thief who was caught shoplifting in a Romford shopping centre, has been jailed for five weeks.

 Police were called at around 3pm on Thursday, 15 May after a man was detained suspected of shoplifting in The Brewery shopping centre.

 After they attended the location, they recovered cosmetic items from the suspect. Further enquiries revealed the man had stolen items from a local pharmacy to the value of £167.70.  The man, aged 45, was arrested for theft and subsequently charged.

 On Wednesday, 9 July, Scott Gambier of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Romford Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to five weeks in prison.  A previous suspended sentence for other matters was also extended to 15 months.
