On this day, we remember those we lost, and we must do all we can to stand with the survivors, as Dan rightly says, to turn “trauma into triumph.”

The Member of Parliament for Romford- Andrew Rosindell MP yesterday attended the national Service of Commemoration at St. Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 20th anniversary of the 7/7 London Bombings, honouring the 52 lives lost and standing in solidarity with the survivors and their families.

Amongst the survivors was Dan Biddle, who was a constituent of Mr Rosindell at the time, living in Collier Row. Dan suffered life-changing injuries in the Edgware Road explosion, losing both of his legs and enduring a long journey of recovery.

“I was privileged to meet Dan and his family, who have been so brave throughout this horrific ordeal” said Mr Rosindell.

Mr Rosindell also offered his full support to Dan’s ongoing campaign for a full public inquiry into the 7/7 attacks.

“After two decades, there remain many unanswered questions. We must ensure that lessons are learned and that such horrors are never repeated.”

Please see below for Mr Rosindell’s full statement.

Twenty years ago today, our capital was shaken by a senseless and brutal act of terror. Fifty-two innocent lives were taken, and hundreds more were changed forever. On that terrible morning, I was in central London and witnessed the panic and fear on our streets. Yet for so many others, the suffering was far greater.

Amongst the survivors is Dan Biddle, who was a constituent of mine at the time from Collier Row. Dan suffered devastating injuries that day, losing both of his legs in the Edgware Road explosion.

Today, I was at St. Paul’s Cathedral, representing the people of Romford, paying respects to all those who died at the Service of Commemoration for the 20th Anniversary of the 7/7 London Bombings.

I was privileged to meet Dan and his family, who have been so brave throughout this horrific ordeal. I wholeheartedly support Dan’s campaign for a full public inquiry into the 7/7 attacks. After two decades, there remain many unanswered questions. We must ensure that lessons are learned and that such horrors are never repeated.

On this day, we remember those we lost, and we must do all we can to stand with the survivors, as Dan rightly says, to turn “trauma into triumph.”
