BREAKING: Police Investigate Awful Rape of Teenage Girl in Romford Underpass.
A police investigation is underway following the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Romford late on Saturday night.
The serious incident took place just after 11.35pm on Saturday 22 June in the subway near the Brewery and London Road, on St Edmund’s Way.
Emergency services responded promptly to the call, with officers attending the scene and ensuring the girl received immediate care. She is currently being supported by specialist officers trained to assist victims of sexual violence.
At this stage, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement:
“On Sunday, 22 June at 11.36pm police were called to St Edmund’s Way, Romford, to reports a girl had been raped. Officers attended and the victim is being supported by specialist officers.”
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has information that could assist the investigation, is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
