Jutsums Park Recreation Ground will be getting a much needed refurbishment in the children’s playground area.

Tracey Niemierko, a regular visitor to the park on Jutsums Lane, Romford for 20 years, told the Havering Daily: “Its where we all walk our dogs and even over the years, I have watched all my five grandsons play in the children’s play area. Back late last year I noticed that the park and playground were both looking a bit uncared for and unloved.”

One area had become a particular place for anti social behaviour and underage drinking. Whereas the playground had a broken swing and holes in the surface around where the children play,

Tracey continued: “After contacting Havering Council parks, myself and another HRA team member Garry Pain plus two Safer Neighbourhood Officers- Kay and Diaina, met with a Havering parks representative and pointed out the issues.

The problem area was imminently dealt with. Alcohol containers were removed, the swing repaired and the broken paving repaired. An application was submitted for a new playground and I am happy to say that it was successful.

We are looking forward to seeing the children enjoying there new playground, if you have any other ideas on how to make more improvements to the park please contact us at tniemierkohra@gmail.com or gpainhra@gmail.com.”
