Beam Park Councillors Working With Havering Staff To Keep Streets Clean.
Beam Park Councillors Trevor Mckeever and Matt Stanton have been meeting regularly with officers from Havering Council and staff from FCC to monitor the street cleaning on New Road.
“We weren’t happy with the performance of the contractors last year as it related to New Road,” Cllr Mckeever told the Havering Daily. “Having met Havering staff on site last year they were in agreement that FCC had to do more. Straight away they got FCC to commit the resources needed.”
While the street cleaners can’t be there every day, the Councillors have heard from many residents that they do see the improvements, and are hopeful that its now just a matter of maintenance.
“This Monday we visited a section of New Road to look at the condition of the road and pick up some minor issues” said Cllr Stanton, “We then visited Lower Mardyke Avenue and were able to explain to officers the ongoing challenges at that location”.
Both Councillors are clear that the best way that we can help keep Havering tidy is to dispose of our rubbish responsibly, and have asked for some additional litter bins to be placed at locations on New Road where residents have requested them.
