Spreading Comfort And Care At Queen’s Hospital
Last week, The Mercury Shopping Centre Breakfast Club had the privilege of visiting the pre- and post-natal wards, as well as the baby bereavement department at Queen’s Hospital, with a very special delivery. Our heartfelt gifts—including beautifully hand-knitted baby hats, teddies, blankets, and cribs—were lovingly crafted by the talented ladies of our Breakfast Club.
We were delighted to meet the incredible staff who provide care and support during both joyous and challenging times. We understand how important it is to offer comfort to families experiencing new beginnings or heart-breaking losses, and we hope these items bring warmth, compassion, and a sense of community to those who need it most.

A huge thank you to Queen’s Hospital and King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity for their warm hospitality. Most importantly, our deepest gratitude goes to our amazing Breakfast Club members, who poured their time and skill into creating over 170 handmade items—your kindness makes a real difference!
The Mercury Breakfast Club is a welcoming social group open to everyone. We meet every Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM at Café Della Continental. Whether you’d like to knit, chat, or simply enjoy good company, we’d love to see you there! For more information, visit www.themercurymall.co.uk or just pop in on the day.
