Havering’s Young Artist Of The Year Award Announced.
On Thursday 6th February, – The Appleby Gallery in Romford was proud to host the annual Havering Young Artist Prize Giving Event, celebrating the outstanding creative talent of young artists from across the borough.
The competition invites students aged 11 to 18 from secondary schools, colleges and sixth forms from across Havering to submit their artwork, providing a unique platform for emerging talent to shine.
The event recognized exceptional work in various categories, with awards presented to the top artists. Key Stage 5 winner, Roni Stock, was awarded first place, while MacKenzie-Leigh Williams secured second place in the Key Stage 4 category with their stunning portraits.
Judges for the event included Natalie Bays, Deputy Centre Manager from The Mercury Shopping Centre which gifted prizes to the winners and Christine Santa Ana from Havering Changing, both of whom were thrilled by the quality and diversity of the submissions.

The exhibition, featuring all the winning pieces and other works from the competition, is open to the public until Thursday, 13 February 2025. It is being held at The Appleby Gallery, located at Frances Bardsley Academy, Brentwood Road, Romford.

The Havering Young Artist of the Year Prize is an annual event designed to celebrate the artistic achievements of young people in Havering. The competition invites artists from schools, colleges, and sixth forms across the borough to participate. The event not only showcases the creativity of students but also provides an important opportunity for them to gain recognition and exposure for their work.
