Many residents across Havering, Barking, and Dagenham have been passionately supporting the ongoing project to create matching pairs of teddies, hearts, and 46-inch by 40-inch blankets for Queen’s Hospital, Romford. What began in 2022 continues today, providing comfort and care to patients in need.

Queen’s Hospital Romford’s Adult Critical Care management team has issued an update for anyone delivering or posting their heartfelt creations:


  • If delivering in person:
    Enter through the main reception doors. Beside Costa Coffee, you will find the information desk where you must report. Ask for Devina Ramchurn, the Adult Critical Care Unit Manager, on extension 3185.
    You may be asked to wait for a member of Devina’s team or given instructions to reach her office, located near ITU on the ground floor.
  • If posting items, address them to:
    FAO – Devina Ramchurn

    Queen’s Hospital
    Rom Valley Way
    Romford
    RM7 0AG

Alternatively, if you prefer to donate to the Jubilee ITU or Neuro ITU wards, follow these instructions:

  • For the Jubilee ITU (4th Floor):
    Ask at reception for Matron Vicky Sullivan, who will guide you on the delivery process.

Join the Nimble Fingers Knitting Group

The Nimble Fingers Knitting Group continues to make headlines, with their recent project including a knitted jumper for a news presenter. Now, they’re inviting new members to join their wonderful team to help create teddies, hearts, and blankets for Queen’s Hospital.

  • When: Wednesday, 29th January, 2–4 PM (school term time)
  • Where: Eastern Avenue Baptist Church, East Road, Chadwell Heath, Romford, Essex, RM6 6YJ

Bring your knitting needles and receive free wool from Marilyn Wyatt to get started. A £3 contribution covers hall hire and insurance.
