Community Praise For Much Respected Hornchurch Town Centre PCSO.

Hornchurch town centre PCSO Angela Gilham is much respected by her local community. PCSO Gilham is known by all the local retailers and her ward members for the hard work she puts in everyday across St Andrew’s.

Last year, Hornchurch town centre underwent a very challenging period that saw record high levels of shoplifting, retailers abused and elderly members of the community unhappy to go out to the town centre during school finishing time.

Angela has worked non stop with her local ward team to support retailers and through her hard work, has made a significant impact across the area. She is not only a well known face across Hornchurch, but one that most of the community know by name and also stop and chat with to share any concerns they may have.

Retailers are used to seeing her cheerful face everyday and know that the collaboration between them and her team has meant significant arrests have now been made to reduce shoplifting across Hornchurch town centre.

One local resident told the Havering Daily: “We all know Angela here, she is a very friendly face that people trust and know that they can come and talk to. I think most of us here are happy we have her. Let’s make sure they will let us keep her and that she stays with us!”

It is officers like Angela that really make an impact across our local community and Havering is fortunate to have many outstanding PCSO’s right across the borough that are a vital like between the community and policing. Knowing your local PCSO and having the ability to talk to them when needed is an important community link for many and thankfully Havering has a team of excellent PCSO’s!
