Update-Man Who Entered Elm Park Newsagent’s Armed With A Knife Dies.

A man who entered a newsagent on St Nicholas Road in Elm Park armed with a knife has now died. The man entered the shop on Monday 30 December just before 7am threatening staff with a knife. Customers intervened to stop the robbery and the man was taken to hospital. He remained in critical but stable condition.

Yesterday, 1st January, police confirmed that the 52 year old had now died.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“On Wednesday 1 January, the man died in hospital. His next of kin has been informed and will be supported by specialist officers. A special post mortem will take place in due course.”
