Beam Park Councillors Call On TfL To Agree Traffic Light Changes At Problem Junction.
Following another road traffic collision at the Marsh Way junction with New Road, Beam Park Councillors Trevor Mckeever and Matt Stanton have written to the Deputy Mayor for Transport, Seb Dance, to ask that approval be given as soon as possible for alterations to the traffic lights.
‘”We have made several visits to site with officers from Havering Council, who have measured the traffic flow through the junction, and have determined that a dedicated right-turn phase on the eastbound carriageway would greatly improve safety at the junction” said Councillor Mckeever. “This now sits with Transport for London, as they have the decision-making authority over changes to traffic lights”.
Cllr Stanton told the Havering Daily that there was a lot of potential for transport improvements in the area, “with the progress being made towards Beam Park Station, it’s important that this junction is safe for all users. We hope that the decision is made quickly in favour of improved safety”.
