Harold Hill Deer Aid, Pippa’s Army, Connor Anderson- We Stand For The Animals.

Havering has some outstanding animal heroes. There are across our borough individuals who have really dedicated their life to rescuing animals and those who have dedicated their life in being a voice for the voiceless and campaign every week, until every cage is open.

Today, we thank Connor Anderson-We Stand For Animals, Pippa’s Army and Harold Hill Deer Aid. These are all volunteers who every week give up their time to be a voice for animals and rush out to save animals and rehome them.

Pippa’s Army are known across Havering and Thurrock for their fantastic rescue work. They are a team of ladies who volunteer their time everyday to come out and rescue animals. These ladies spend hours and days looking for missing animals, finding them and rehoming them. They go out to save homeless animals found on our street, they take in endless animals and have provided new homes for so many animals that would have been lost with out them. We see the daily work they do, but behind the scenes, these ladies work tirelessly to find homes for strays and find shelter for those on the street.

When the horrendous fire struck two years ago in Wennington, it was these volunteers that went in first to rescue burnt animals that had been caught in the fire. They spent days looking through the ashes for animals who had survived and needed urgent help.

Pippa’s Army volunteers do a vital, life saving job for our animals. They are a team of ladies who really are heroes and their work on our streets needs to be praised. THANK YOU-for what you do.

Connor Anderson is an animal liberation activist who organises We Stand For The Animals events across London that highlight the endless cruelty our animals endure. Connor is also the organiser of the annual Animal Rights March across London that is attended by thousands who hope to not only highlight the endless cruelty and horrors our animals go through each day, but also in a bid to educate people in the reality of animal farming.

Connor is found on our streets each week with the We Stand For The Animals team that stand across city centres with television screens showing the realty of how meat gets on plates. Connor peacefully chats to endless members of the public to talk about the horror of the diary industry and the cruelty of mass farming. He and his team are selfless, caring people who live in the hope that one day all animals will be free from cruelty and all cages are empty.

We Stand For The Animals.

THANK YOU Connor, you are a truly incredible person who is an animal hero.

Harold Hill Deer Aid are a team of volunteers-Jan Sargent, Shantel, Mick and Laura Hockley, Declan Smethurst, Michael Howard, Lisa-Jane Williams-Adams and Glen Haywood. This team is based in Harold Hill, but work throughout Havering and parts of London and Essex. They have saved endless deer, foxes, badgers, pigs, the list goes on. Their work is invaluable. They spend days on call, rushing out to save our wildlife who are frequently caught in traps or injured by vehicles. As our wildlife is slowly being wiped out to make room for never ending blocks of flats-Harold Hill Deer Aid are frequently being called out to injured animals or animals who have lost their habitat. This team spend all their time freeing trapped deers, saving injured animals and being their to support our wildlife.

As our wildlife is now facing even more destruction at a time when they urgently need supporting, it is people like Harold Hill Deer Aid that are so important in our community. They not only rush out to help injured animals, but are also on hand to educate those in the community that do want to work alongside our wildlife.

Harold Hill Deer Aid received special awards from Havering’s Mayor.

They are an amazing bunch and we THANK YOU.

As David Attenborough very eloquently said-“We can coexists with animals and respect each other”. Sadly we don’t seem to be and this is why Harold Hill Deer Aid, Pippa’s Army and Connor Anderson must be recognised for their outstanding dedication to those who have no voice.
