Havering Community Members Join Special Met Police Christmas Carol Concert.
A special Christmas carol concert was held at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday evening. Three members of Havering’s community were chosen to attend alongside our police officers.
Harold Hill community champion Jan Sargent, local volunteer Carol Cook and Kerry Wright from Havering council joined Inspector Holgate at Westminster Abbey.
The three ladies were invited by Chief Inspector Charlie Routley who has been the lead officer for the successful implementation of the Clear, Hold, Build. This scheme has seen a significant drop in shoplifting and anti social behaviour across the Harold Hill area.
Jan Sargent told the Havering Daily:
“We were extremely honoured to be invited to spend such a magical evening in the most prestigious Westminster Abbey.
A beautiful memory that will stay with us forever”.
Chief Inspector Routley told the Havering Daily:
“It was wonderful to be able to invite some community champions and key partners to the event as a way of saying thank you for their ongoing support throughout 2024.
We all work together for the benefit of Havering’s residents and I look forward to continuing that collaborative approach into 2025 and beyond.”
