Havering Small Businesses Step In To Help Local Florist After Heartless thieves Steal Stock.
A local florist from Gidea Park has thanked other small businesses in Havering who stepped in to support her after a large part of her Christmas stock was stolen by callous thieves.
Sharyn from Fleurtations Floral Designs had her special Christmas stock ready that included Christmas wreaths, expensive trees and even children’s party items all in her storage facility, when thieves broke in two weeks ago.
She told the Havering Daily: “When I went to my storage facility I saw that the door had been broken into and the stock had been taken in the middle of the night. This included stock we had purchased for loved ones graves at Christmas time. To say we are utterly devastated is an understatement.”
The stock stolen is believed to have been worth over £2,000.
Sharyn posted the incident on social media, local Facebook pages asking the community to be on the look out for stock being sold second hand.
“The community were fantastic, they stepped in and gave us the most awesome support. It was so comforting,” she added.
The break in left Sharyn in a very difficult position. “Our biggest order was due out the weekend just gone and it left us a week to get everything back together. It really has been one of the most stressful times in our businesses history. But we then had two amazing offers of help,” said Sharyn.
“The very wonderful Charlie from CCH Electrical and an offer of help from Homemade By H, the lovely Mrs Hannah Baird stepped in to try and get everything back to as it was and help us where they could.
“Charlie offered to do all our pat testing free of charge after learning our Christmas lights had been stolen. We hurried and bought all the lights wich meant getting 100’s of metres of lights so close to Christmas! But we did it and Charlie came after working hours to declare everything was safe.
“Hannah spent hours helping us source all our decorations that were stolen and prepare them so we could fill our orders and as one big team we did it!” continued Sharyn.
Sharyn was so touched by the help and the way people stepped in to support each other. “These offers of help meant the world to us,” she finished.
