Staff at the Tesco store in Rainham held their second special community morning yesterday, 26 November. Every last Tuesday of the month, different organisations and charities set up stalls in the entrance of the store to meet shoppers and chat about the various activities going on in the area.

Yesterday saw stalls from The Lightin Drama group that are having a special performance of the Little Mermaid this weekend at the Harris Academy, Tracey from Havering Adult Social Services and Members of our local policing team.

Shoppers were able to engage with the different participants and talk about any issues they may have or events they may be able to attend.

Sergeant Basit and local PCSO’s Brian and Julia were on hand to chat to residents about issues they had and did some fantastic community engagement.

The event was organised by Rainham superstar and ward councillor Sue Ospreay and store community champion Natalie Camillis. These ladies do a great job in this store and have an amazing relationship with their shoppers.

Councillor Jackie McArdle was also on hand to give her support to the event.
