United in Basketball and Football returned this half term to provide free sport across Havering to continue the brilliant work between our local police and Havering Council.

United in Basketball and Football continued as part of OUR HAROLD HILL Clear Hold Build initiative which was set up by PC Russ Harley. Throughout the summer many sessions were held across Havering which proved to be extremely successful.

Three sessions were put on at Cottons Park, Harold Wood Park, Brittons School and 4G PITCH during this October half term.

Across the three sessions there were a total of 137 children who attended providing free sport, promoting healthy eating and engaging with the youth of the community as well as fruit and water at the Harold Wood session which was donated by The Co-Op Community Team.

The basketball and football sessions were put on by First Touch Sport and Bad Thunder basketball Club.

PC Harley told the Havering Daily: “Amazing work from both the coaching teams and SNT teams which assisted in the running of these sessions, A huge thank you to the Council and HAF Foundation for providing funding for the event as well as the Co-Op for supporting us at another event. Following the summer success I wanted to continue to put on sessions throughout the year so we could engage with the youth in the local communities and build on the great work we have been doing and promote a positive image of the police “

United in Basketball and Football will be looking to return and put on further sessions in the near future.
