Young singers unite to raise money in memory of friend who was supported by Saint Francis Hospice.
This Saturday ten local musicians gathered at The Mercury Shopping Centre for a concert like no other. Joining together for one single purpose, to remember and honour their friend Paula Allibon who had recently sadly lost her battle with cancer while being given care at Saint Francis Hospice.
The event organised by local young performer Scott Wood and Phoenix FM DJ Kev Piggott was a day of enjoyable music performances from the musicians that Paula had loved and supported.

The idea stemmed from a conversation between the young performers at their regular open mic night organised by Kev.
Kev told the Havering Daily:
“Scott and Robbie [performers] regularly busk in and around the Brentwood area and came up with the idea of spending a day busking to raise money for Saint Francis Hospice. Scott spoke to Natalie about performing at The Mercury Mall, and from there, Scott, Natalie, and I worked together to make the event happen on 19th October. It was a fantastic day in memory of Paula Allibon, and I want to personally thank everyone involved. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the public, who contributed to the collection, and we know the funds will truly help Saint Francis Hospice. ”
The Mercury were honoured to be able to support the event which saw £1000 raised for Saint Francis Hospice, a charity that The Mercury have supported for over 10 years.
Natalie, Deputy Centre Manager of The Mercury Shopping Centre told the Havering Daily:
“We are always amazed at how generous our local community are when supporting charities such as Saint Francis Hospice. The event was truly heartwarming, with lots of the acts on the day being young people who really wanted to thank the hospice. I can’t see a better way for her legacy to live on than in a concert of such talented local musicians dedicated to her.”
