Man charged with assault by beating, assaulting occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating of an emergency service worker, two counts of racially aggravated harassment and two counts of using threatening behaviour to cause alarm and distress.
Vilius Petronavicus, 28 of Leyburn Road, Romford has since been charged with assault by beating, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating of an emergency worker, two counts of racially aggravated intentional harassment and two counts of using threatening behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
This comes after Petronavicus assaulted two people in Tesco in the Heathway, Dagenham on Sunday (13 October) evening ans then went on to assault more including a police officer.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“We were called to The Heathway in Dagenham at around 20:56 on Sunday, 13 October following reports of two people being assaulted.
It was reported that a man assaulted a member of the public in Tesco Express before seriously assaulting a female member of the public outside the store.
A 28-year-old man from Romford was arrested and following an assault against an officer in custody, the man was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of racially aggravated harassment and assault of an emergency worker.
He will next appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court today, 15 October.”
