Residents at Lady Ville Lodge Care Home host special Harvest Festival service to hand over donations for food bank.
Lady Ville Lodge Care Home are a very small family run care home in north ockendon in the Upminster lanes. The home has around 40 residents altogether of various stages of age related illness, mobility and dementia.
Over the last month they have been very busy making seasonal decorations and have decorated areas of the home beautifully for the autumnal season and have also started a collection for donations of non perishable food items toiletries cleaning products etc from our staff team members and the residents families. The response has been AMAZING!
Now, the home has filled their collection box to overflowing levels and they still have more to add!
The Reverend Marion Williams from All Saints Church in Cranham was able to hold a short monthly church service within the home to maintain spiritually for all the residents and it is an important part of their activity program.
The Rev Marion visited Lady Ville on Thursday last week at 1.30pm to hold a harvest festival service for everyone at the home where they were able to present her with the donations they had collected for her to take back to the weekly food bank she runs.
“It was our way to give a little something back to the community who have been so supportive to us” said staff karen and Nikki.
“We enjoy putting on these sort of events and activities for the residents so much and we are both humbled and proud to have been named as regional finalists in the London area in the great British care awards 2024 in the activities category”, continued the two ladies.
“It was so good to share harvest with the guest of Ladyville and they collected so many items for the foodbank which is a blessing .. I’m so grateful to Karen for invitation”, said the Rev Marion.
“It was a lovely service and great to give something back to the community”,said June a resident at the home.
