A flat was targeted within City House where Drillford members were believed to be using it as a stash house for drugs and supplying it in the Ilford area.

On Sunday, 13 September 2024 a series of warrants were executed at targeted flats within City House, Ilford under Operation Manuganui.

PC John developed intelligence to support his colleagues on East Area Proactive Investigations Team 1 in targeting a known organised crime group (OCG) known as Drillford. Working with partnership agencies and the local community, PC John had identified a flat within City House where Drillford was believed to be using as a stash house for drugs and was supplying it in the Ilford area.

A day of action was planned with support from Proactive Investigation Team, Ilford Town Centre Team and the Met’s Dog Unit.

Warrants were smoothly executed and a search was carried out in the flats where inside one of the flats were two men and a large dog. A large quantity of cannabis was seized along with a large amount of cash.

Both men were arrested, charged and remanded to court the next day after a 25 hour shift by the investigating team.

This has had a great impact on the criminal activities committed by Drillford.

DS Bellamy from Proactive Investigations Team 1 said: “Great result for the on-going operation with some excellent support from other departments and teams. This has had a significant impact on the OCG and the landlord including Estate agency who manage City House have been very happy with the Police action. Evictions have been processed and locks changed including communal doors to prevent the OCG gaining entry in the future”.

Drugs found in the flat.
