‘Our local Neighbourhoods officers are vital, we are taking steps to limit the amount of abstractions they face and deliver the strongest ever approach to Neighbourhood policing.’
‘We are working to raise their profile and make them accessible to our residents and business communities‘-East Area Commander Stuart Bell.
Following an article written in the Havering Daily on Tuesday 24 September, regarding the level of officers taken from Havering weekly to work London protests and the damage it is having on our high streets, East Area Commander Stuart Bell has written his response.
“Our local Neighbourhood officers are vital to tackling crime and building trust in communities. We are taking steps across London to limit the amount of abstractions they face from their local ward and to deliver the strongest ever approach to Neighbourhood policing.
Our officers still spend most of their time in their community and we have seen some fantastic work in key areas of Havering that have resulted in less crime, safer streets and also strengthened our vital connections with the communities we serve.
There is more to do and I recognise that. Every ward in Havering has dedicated Officers who we want you to get to know. We are working to raise their profile and make them accessible to our residents and business communities”.
