BREAKING: Car rams betting shop causing gas leak and flat evacuation in Harold Hill.

It is believed a car has rammed a betting shop in Petersfield Avenue in Harold Hill hitting a gas pipe and causing a leak to the flats above.

The incident happened at 4.30am this morning when residents had to be evacuated by firefighters due to the gas leak and the area cordoned off.

Residents were evacuated to a nearby church on Petersfield Avenue.

Police were called just after 4.30am and responded within three minutes.

The front of Ladbrokes clearly shows the damaged caused by the vehicle.
