Margaret Mullane MP has called for action from Havering Council to put in place measures to restrict speeding vehicles along Upminster Road North.Margaret was contacted by residents following her election as the Dagenham and Rainham MP, asking her to intervene with Havering Council to improve road safety in the busy stretch of the road.

Margaret told the Havering Daily: “Residents told me that vehicles are driving way to fast in the section of the road between the A1306 junction and the width restrictions near to the Jewish Cemetery.

I have discussed this with my Rainham and Wennington team members, Fay Hough and Sue Watson and have emailed Havering Council calling for action to restrict speeding vehicles to prevent serious traffic accidents. I know this is a bus route and provision always has to be made for emergency and refuse vehicles, but there is a need for traffic calming measures in Upminster Road North. I look forward to the Council’s response.”
