Despite such a heavy defeat for the Conservative Party across the country, here in Romford Andrew Rosindell won his seventh consecutive term as Member of Parliament.

It was one of the hardest election campaigns Mr Rosindell has won, but as a seasoned campaigner, and popular MP across Romford, Mr Rosindell came through and celebrated his seventh victory.

Whether you like or dislike Andrew, he runs one of the hardest campaigns to beat. His workload is at times quite unimaginable, visiting virtually every household in his constituency and vowing to his voters that he would not ‘eat, sleep or rest’ until Romford remained blue. And it did.

Today, he reflects on his victory and told the Havering Daily:

“I am deeply honoured and immensely grateful to have been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Romford for my seventh consecutive term. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who supported me, and I want to assure every resident, whether you voted for me or not, that I will be a tireless advocate for our community. I recognise that a significant proportion of our community have become disillusioned with politics and this time gave their support for Reform… well I can assure you that I am committed to ensuring your voice matters and that we are both united in combating Labour’s socialist agenda whilst also providing a small-conservative solution to the problems that affect our great country. There is no appetite for Labour in Romford, and now more than ever, it is my duty to project the views and values of our community in the House of Commons and challenge Mr Starmer’s plan for the United Kingdom.”

Well, I suppose it’s a small improvement that he finally realises that Mr Starmer is the PM, given that much of his election campaign material gave the impression that he thought that Mr Khan was either the leader of the Labour Party or their candidate in Romford.
As I asked a blue-rosetted canvasser on polling day who handed me one of Mr Rosindell’s ‘Stop Khan’ leaflets: ‘Does your candidate know that Sadiq Khan isn’t actually standing in this election?’

Do you think that Sir Kier will step down to allow Sadiq Khan to become the next Prime Minister in a year or so? Sadiq has become incredibly popular since his Ulez expansion solved Havering’s ‘Toxic Air Quality’ problem.
Sadiq presents himself as such a decent, honest man. I like the way he answers questions in such an open, honest and transparent manner. Our quality of life as Londoners has been greatly enhanced by having Sadiq at the helm since 2016.

        No.
Would you prefer him to do so ?

One of the reasons I’m glad I left Romford! He might ‘visit every household ‘ but how many of these does he actually help in any matter? I know personally from myself and others what our answer is.
