Beam Park councillors Trevor McKeever and Matt Stanton hit out Havering council for failing to solve endless issues at New Green.

Repeated Hot Water shutdowns at New Green are showing the failure of this administration to look after residents.

It’s one thing after another at New Green. Despite the best efforts of residents in reporting issues, and the Councillors, Trevor McKeever and Matt Stanton, meeting officers on site and raising regular concerns, the council has a big blind spot when it comes to New Green.

“Essentially this administration inherited a badly managed contract from the previous one, but they have compounded the problem by not being proactive in resolving issues” said Cllr Mckeever “the EV charging points have never worked, the lifts have only just started being properly maintained, and the bins break as soon as you look at them. But no one will ever end up taking responsibility for any of it as long as the councillors in charge don’t care enough.”

For Councillor Stanton, the Heating and Hot Water issues are intolerable, “Several times in the last week the heating and hot water have failed, affecting hundreds of residents. The Council is very good at being aware of issues but seems reluctant to fix them”.

Councillor Stanton will be formally raising some of the issues around New Green at the Full Council meeting on the 24th of July.

Is it because the Council is turning down boilers to 18 degrees which apparently is nhs guideline. Sheltered accommodation is being treated this way despite the fact that elderly and infirm tenants find this temperature is not warm enough.
