Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre pool in Romford temporary closed following early morning medical emergency.

Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre pool was temporarily closed this morning after a medical emergency with a customer in the pool changing rooms.

London Ambulance attended the scene and a person was taken to hospital.

Tom Fletcher, area contract manager, told the Havering Daily: “We can confirm that the London Ambulance Service attended Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre this morning, following a medical emergency involving a customer in the swimming pool changing rooms. The individual has been taken to hospital, and we extend our wishes for their swift recovery.  

While the pool was briefly closed, it has since reopened. All other areas of the centre remain operational as usual.”
