This is another positive result not just for my team, but for the community of Harold Hill, who have been plagued by the brazen and unscrupulous offending committed by Ms Everitt.”

Thanks to the ongoing hard work of Harold Hill police officers under the Clear, Hold Build, initiative, another prolific shoplifter has been handed a 16 week custodial sentence.

Shannah Everitt, 29 years, no fixed abode was arrested on the 17 June in relation to numerous shoplifting offences committed in the Harold Hill area (Farnham Road, Petersfield Avenue and Station Road, Harold Wood).

She previously appeared at Barkingside Magistrates court in May and was found guilty of a separate series of shoplifting offences in the same area. On this date she was given a 12 week custodial sentence suspended for 12 months

On Tuesday 18 June, she was found guilty of 7 further offences and sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment (12 weeks suspended sentence enacted plus an additional 4 weeks) as well as being handed a Criminal Behaviour Order which lasts for 3 years. The CBO will prevent her from entering the following areas of Harold Hill, which is where all of the offences she has been found guilty of have been committed

The defendant must not:

  1. Enter the location between the streets GOOSHAYS DRIVE, HILDENE AVENUE, CHIPPENHAM ROAD, WEST DENE DRIVE and DARTFIELDS within London Borough of HAVERING
  2. Not to enter the location of the shopping parade on PETERSFIELD AVENUE, RM3 within the London Borough of HAVERING.

  • Not to enter the location of the shopping parade on STATION ROAD, HAROLD WOOD, RM3 within London Borough of HAVERING

Acting Chief Inspector Charlie Routley, tactical lead for Clear Hold Build in Havering said: “This is another positive result not just for my team, but for the community of Harold Hill, who have been plagued by the brazen and unscrupulous offending committed by Ms Everitt.

As part of our ongoing Clear Hold Build initiative in Harold Hill we are working closely with the public and the business community to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour in the area. We have also worked closely with our partners in the London Borough of Havering  to secure a Criminal Behaviour Order which will prevent her from offending in the area for the next 3 years.

I hope this comes as a great relief to those shop workers and residents who have been effected by Ms Everitt’s offending over the last few months. Since the launch of Clear Hold Build in December 2023 we have seen a 50% reduction of reported crime in the Farnham Road area as well as a fall in reported Anti-Social Behaviour.

We are committed to making Harold Hill a safer place to live and work and we will continue to target offenders by utilising ancillary orders such as Criminal Behaviour Orders to prevent them from offending in our community”.
