VIDEO:Firefighters tackle electric car fire in Collier Row.
An electric vehicle burst into flames at the Esso Petrol station in Collier Row Road this afternoon.
Firefighters rushed to the scene just after 3pm and placed a 25 metre cordon around the burning vehicle.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade told the Havering Daily:
“Firefighters were called at 15:06 today to reports of a vehicle alight at a petrol station on Collier Row Road, RM5. An electric car is currently alight and crews are working at the scene to fully extinguish the fire. A 25 metre cordon is in place as a precaution and people are advised to avoid the area at this time. Three fire engines from Romford and Dagenham fire stations are at the scene.”
