Cash and alcohol stolen as men armed with hammers rob petrol station in Rainham.
Men armed with hammers and screwdrivers robbed the Esso petrol garage in Rainham just before 5am this morning. The incident happened on New Road, as the men entered the premises stealing alcohol, cash and cigarettes. A member of staff was in the garage at the time, but was not injured.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police were called at around 0440 hours on Monday 3rd June to reports of a burglary taking place at the Esso petrol garage, New Road, Rainham.
Four men broke into the premises armed with hammers and screwdrivers and stole a quantity of alcohol, cigarettes and cash. They left the scene prior to police arrival.
Although a member of staff was on the premises, nobody was injured.
No arrests have been made and this remains a live investigation.”
