Dagenham and Rainham Conservatives are gearing up for General Election.

Members of the Conservative Party from the Dagenham and Rainham constituency gathered at their Annual General Meeting to elect officers and outline their agenda ahead of the general election, in which Sam Holland will represent the party.

Mr Holland’s campaign will build on the local Conservative Party’s recent successes, including their staunch opposition to the ULEZ expansion and their instrumental role in re-electing Keith Prince to the London Assembly. The local party’s efforts have also successfully safeguarded Eastbrook and Rush Green from Labour’s expansion of Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ), marking it as the sole ward in Dagenham exempt from these changes.

With the general election approaching, Sam Holland seeks to be the strong voice of the local communities in Parliament. Together with local Conservatives, he is set to campaign for community-based policing, oppose the overdevelopment of the area, and keep the economy growing.

The leadership team will see a combination of continuity and new energy for the forthcoming term. Matej Travnicek continues as Chairman, with Ben Suter as Deputy Chairman Political. Sharfaraz Raj Khan steps into the role of Deputy Chair Membership and Finance, succeeding Sue Connelly BEM, who will now serve as the Association’s President.

Mr Holland told the Havering Daily:

“As someone who was born in Dagenham and grew up in Rainham, I am deeply committed to addressing the challenges our communities face. We need more police on our streets, fewer tower blocks that ruin our neighbourhoods, and policies that protect the economy from Labour’s dangerous high-tax plans.”

Mr Travnicek told the Havering Daily:

“After 23 years with an MP who chose Notting Hill over Dagenham and Rainham, it’s evident that our communities deserve better. Sam Holland represents the change we need. He has the energy, agility, and dedication to be our strong voice in Westminster.”
