Harold Hill Co-op staff run marathon to raise money for animal rescue charity Deer Aid.

Staff at the Hilldene Co-op really are local legends! Ladies Lindy and Sylwia are well known and much loved by their customers in Harold Hill and also by animal rescue charity, Deer Aid.

In April this year, the two ladies donned their running shoes and undertook a 10K race to raise money for the local animal rescue charity.

Deer Aid are run by local volunteers who have truly dedicated their lives to saving animals. The team consists of Jan, Mick,Shantel and Laura who are called out everyday to rescue injured wildlife across not only Havering, but London and Essex.

Yesterday the Co-op staff presented members of Deer Aid with a £600 cheque to help support the charity and the incredible work they do daily across London.

In response, members of Deer Aid told the Havering Daily:
“Harold Hill Deer Aid would like to say a massive thank you to Lindy Surface, Sylwia Weickowska- Pawlak and the fantastic staff and customers of the Co-Op Hilldene, Harold Hill for raising a whopping £600.00 ! for our wildlife rescue.
Back in April, Lindy and Sylwia ran a 10k marathon and with the support of their lovely customers they raised lots of much needed funds.
We honestly cannot thank you all enough. Nothing inspires us more than knowing we have the love and support of our community. Vital funds like this enable us to pay vet fees, buy much needed equipment and manage everyday running costs. We couldn’t do it without you.
We thank you all for your continued support”.

Well done to Lindy and Sylwia and their amazing customers for their funds and to all the team at Deer Aid who really do such a vital and outstanding service for our wildlife. Without them so many animals would not survive. Endless housing builds has already destroyed their habitats and thanks to this incredible team of volunteers, many are rescued and saved.
