Gallows Corner finally receives approval for refurb and strengthening.
After 50 years of being a temporary flyover, Gallows will receive a refurbishment.
Yesterday, 7 May, Julia Lopez MP who has been campaigning for the refurbishment of Gallows Corner, received the news that the Transport Minister had approved a £57million scheme for its redevelopment.
The Hornchurch and Upminster MP had written to Mr Guy Opperman MP in a bid to have the longstanding flyover finally strengthened and refurbished. Gallows Corner was built over 50 years ago as a temporary flyover and despite endless work by MPs and visits from the London Mayor, nothing was done.
Mrs Lopez said: “It’s been my priority to unlock road upgrades for our constituency to improve people’s journeys and stop gridlock. After a long campaign, Gallows is locked in!”.
