Gofundme set up to help officers injured in Hainault horror.
A Gofundme page has been set up to help support the recuperation of two East Area police officers brutally injured in Tuesday’s Hainault sword attack. The two officers, an Inspector who suffered extensive injuries to his hand and a police constable whose arm was nearly cut off and has required extensive medical intervention to keep her arm, will now require many months of healing and recuperation.
The Gofundme page has been set up by a former Redbridge police sergeant who is in contact with a serving officer working in the team with the two injured officers. He writes:”These officers were seriously injured and these physical injuries will take months to recover from and the psychological effects even longer. This fund has been created so that, when they are physically able to, they can get away with a loved one or family member and recuperate from this ordeal.”
The retired officers also states that: “Social media would have you believe the public are divided on how they feel about the police, but I hope the majority would agree that all those involved in that incident are heroes, none more so than the officers who initially confronted him and received life changing injuries.”
These officer are indeed heroes and their actions were incredibly brave.
